SENSORY TOUCH AND MUSIC

Exploring Communication Through Sensory Touch and Music

Our senses are the windows through which we experience the world. They are the pathways to information, understanding, and connection with the people and objects around us. In the context of Early Years, especially for children with disabilities and complex medical needs, sensory stimulation plays a pivotal role in learning and communication.

Irrespective of age, abilities, or disabilities, we all perceive and engage with the world through our senses. Sensory Touch and Music Sessions (STAM), created and led by Anna, are designed to harness the power of touch and music as a means of communication between a child and their caregiver.

STAM sessions serve as a valuable tool for every child, regardless of their ability. They are particularly beneficial for those with sensory impairments, developmental delays, complex medical needs, and limited communication skills. By using touch and music, we create a bridge of understanding and connection that surpasses words.

Our STAM sessions are open to all and operate on a drop-in basis, with no cost involved. Siblings are encouraged to join as well. It is an inclusive space where we celebrate the unique journey of every child, fostering communication, growth, and connection through the magic of sensory touch and music.
