Welcome to Jolly Josh: Your Inclusive, Supportive and Accessible Children’s Centre in Castleton, Rochdale
Jolly Josh is more than just a Centre – it is a modern, purpose-built haven for children living with complex medical needs and physical disabilities. We have designed this fully accessible space with one goal in mind: to offer a world of play, social engagement, and hydrotherapy-based experiences tailored to the unique needs of our young guests, aged 0-19.

Our Centre boasts a wide array of specialist mobility, accessibility, and play equipment, ensuring that every child, alongside their families and caregivers, can enjoy safe and supported play.
Our Multi-Function Room is a versatile space equipped with specialised mobility aids, seating options, and engaging play equipment, empowering every child to explore, learn, and create no matter their diagnosis. Inside, you will find an array of sensory toys, ‘home corner,’ ball pit, dark den, an interactive whiteboard, and a captivating ‘Magic Carpet’ to spark endless smiles.
For those seeking the many benefits of warm water therapy, our Hydrotherapy Suite awaits.
Home to a 2.5m x 5m Hydro Pool, maintained at a comfortable 35 degrees, it is open Monday through Saturday. The suite is equipped with a state-of-the-art electronic ceiling track hoist, an adjustable adult-sized changing bed, and an accessible changing room with shower facilities. Hydrotherapy sessions, led by our experienced Hydro Lead, are a free of charge to our Jolly Josh families. We also host a weekly Splash Together session for children aged 0-5 and their caregivers and can even host Family Splash sessions. Additionally, you can even hire our Hydrotherapy Pool for private use.
We believe that support knows no bounds, which is why our facilities are open not only to children but also to parents, caregivers, and siblings. It is a place to meet new friends, offer mutual support, and share in each other’s journeys.
At Jolly Josh, we take pride in being home to a ‘Changing Places’ Toilet. This facility serves as a clean, safe, and dignified space for disabled individuals from across the country visiting Rochdale. It is a convenience that we are honoured to offer, ensuring that everyone can experience our town with comfort and ease.
