“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.”

Fundraising events like runs and walks can make such a huge difference in supporting charities, and here at Jolly Josh we are overwhelmed with the fundraising support we have had recently.

Walks are a fantastic way to bring communities together for a cause, and Amy did just that. On 30th March, Amy took part in a gruelling walk dressed as an Easter bunny walking from Rochdale to Manchester.

Amy said.

“Back in July 2023 I noticed a changed in Alfie’s bones. After numerous appointments Alfie has a winged scapula and has recently been diagnosed with EDS also very hyper mobile. We have been very fortunate to access the hydrotherapy pool at Jolly Josh, which will hopefully strengthen Alfie for the future. I walked into Jolly Josh on our first visit, and I was taken away by this charity. I popped my head into the function room to thank a member of staff before we left, and I had to hold back my tears. Children and families are given the opportunity to meet and make new friends whilst also having all the facilities to do this. On my visits I see families come through the reception and you can see how much it means to them. Until you visit Jolly Josh and see just how amazing this place is and how many ways it helps families, it is hard to put into words how outstanding this place really is. Thank you to everyone at Jolly Josh for your work. Rochdale are very blessed to have you.”

Thank you, Amy, for all your hard work for Jolly Josh.

On 14th April we had 2 other fantastic fundraisers. David Tully and Abdul Wadud, Inspiring us all with their dedication and perseverance as they took part in the Manchester Marathon. What an amazing accomplishment.

David Tully, visited Jolly Josh and shared with us his training schedule to prepare for the Marathon and his passion to support local charities like Jolly Josh. What a fantastic achievement.

Abdul’s Nephew attends Jolly Josh and absolutely loves coming. Abdul explained how he wanted to raise money for Jolly Josh, and he trained for the Marathon whilst fasting. He was interviewed by Northwest Tonight, who documented his journey. It was fantastic to see Jolly Josh on the News!

Thank you so much David and Abdul for all your hard work! Fundraising like this helps to keep the doors of our centre open.

A huge thank you to all our fundraisers. We appreciate your dedication and support .
